A Message from our President

Posted on November 11, 2016

 To Everyone,

Autumn Message from Your President

On Saturday Nov 5th, the five Waterloo Region Ridings hosted a Volunteer Appreciation event at the Waterloo Region Museum. The Hon. Harjit Sajjan was a very special guest and inspired everyone with his sincerity and commitment to the role of Canada in the world. Our own Tim Louis knocked it out of the park as MC.

This fall, Kitchener-Conestoga has been present at both the Wellesley and New Hamburg Fairs and have continued on with phone banking with the support of the Young Liberals at Laurier University.

Thanks to all who attended our picnic in Sept. The weather was not the best, but we had a great venue at the Petersburg Park and enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers and most of all, each other’s company.

We welcome all new registered Liberals; we now count 195 in our EDA and hope to have the opportunity to meet with you soon.

Three members of the Kitchener-Conestoga EDA, myself and Tim and Brenda Louis had the privilege of attending the Liberal Party of Canada(Ontario) AGM Oct 21st and 22nd in Niagara Falls.

The AGM was opened by the RT Honorable Justin Trudeau.

Congratulations to Tim Louis who was elected President of the Southwestern Region of LPC(O) at the AGM .We know that Tim will do a great job, and we wish him well in his new position.

At the meeting, delegates had the opportunity to listen to speakers such as Bill Morneau, John McCallum, Kathleen Wynne and attend sessions with topics such as Rural Ridings, Unheld Ridings, and Fund Raising.

Our next Executive and Board Meeting will be Nov 23rd at 7PM at Kennedy’s in St Agatha. All are welcome to attend.

Our Christmas Party will be Sunday, Dec 4th from 2-4 at Kennedy’s in St Agatha. This is a chance to get to meet other registered Liberals, your executive, and participate in some holiday cheer. More information will be sent out in the next couple of weeks.

A joint fundraising event is being planned with Kitchener-South-Hespeler early in the New Year and we are very excited about the opportunity to work together.

Hope to have the opportunity to meet with everyone in December.

Kathryn Murrell,

President, Kitchener-Conestoga Federal Liberal Association
